The Frick Collection

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT / HOSPITALITY ADVISOR

The Frick Collection is undergoing its first major renovation since 1935, when the original house was trandformed into a museum. The design, by Selldorf Architects, will expand access to the original 1914 home of Henry Clay Frick and enhance the visitor experience, which will include a new restaurant designed by Bryan O'Sullivan Studio and operated by Union Sqaure Events.

The Schoolhouse

A mixed-use development project in the City of Newburgh, featuring 70 residential units and 15,000 sf of commercial space, including a microbrewery. Currently in the planning stage, projected opening is in 2024.

Mapos

CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT / FACILITIES DESIGN

Collaboration as a subconsultant to Mapos Architects in the conceptual development of The Inn at Kirkside, a regenerative hospitality project in Roxbury, NY. The inn will feature a restaurant, a culinary education program, and a virtual food hub serving local restaurants, markets, and farmers.

Sisha Ortuzar


During the span of a 30-year career in hospitality, Sisha Ortuzar has worked in a wide range of projects, from co-founding and operating a fast-casual chain even before the term became ubiquitous, to designing facilities for restaurants, events venues and hotels, as well as creating one of the largest urban farms in NYC.

Prior to launching his advisory practice, Ortuzar, a native of Santiago, Chile, and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, had been cooking and building restaurants in NYC for over 20 years. Ortuzar is the co-founder, with Tom Colicchio, of the fast-casual chain ‘Wichcraft, the fine dining restaurant Riverpark, and the award-winning urban farm Riverpark Farm. Beyond his duties as culinary director at these businesses, Ortuzar conceptualized and oversaw the design, construction, and overall development of the brands.

At Grounded Hospitality Advisors, Ortuzar specializes in projects where real estate development and hospitality meet, applying years of experience as owner and operator to create and retain value for all stakeholders in every project. Current and recent work includes conceptual development, facilities design, and project management, both as owner and owner’s rep.
